Blah..blah..Ages the skin!! Not on my watch!
We know very well having a sweet tooth can cause us our waistline. But don’t you know too, that overeating sugar can make our skin dull and wrinkles!!.
When you’ve sugar in your bloodstream attaches to proteins to form harmful new molecules call advanced glycation end products (or, AGEs for short). The more sugar you eat, the more AGEs you develop. And AGEs damage adjacent protein in a domino-like collagen and elastin. The most vulnerable to keep skin firm and elastin. Once collagen damaged and elastic become dry and brittle, leading to wrinkles and sagging.
This is healthy skin and older skin. Younger skin got collagen more like grape. Older skin got collagen more like raisins!!
From “the truth about looking young” national geographic BBC 2015 by Dr Rozina Ali
People with diabetes often show early signs of skin aging.
The good news is it’s never too late to turn back the clock. We can rebuild collagen like changing our diets, use skin care with retinoids, always wear SPF and get facial regularly.
Cheers 😉
